Colegio de Santo Cristo de Burgos, a Catholic institution catering to both men and women in Quezon Province, was established in the year 2008. The genesis of the school can be traced back to the visionary Juanito Manigbas, the former Mayor of Sariaya, Quezon and a devout follower of Santo Cristo de Burgos, who envisioned a school dedicated to molding the youth in accordance with the principles of the Catholic faith.
Driven by his commitment to Santo Cristo de Burgos and a life dedicated to serving humanity, particularly the underprivileged in the community, former-Mayor Juanito B. Manigbas exemplified the values of service and love through both his actions and teachings.
In June 2008, Mr. Manigbas inaugurated a new school, initially offering Hotel and Restaurant Services as its flagship program. Subsequently, the curriculum expanded to include courses in Information Technology, Computer Science, and Computer Hardware Servicing. The school, committed to delivering top-notch education and spiritual formation alongside community service, boasts world-class facilities and highly skilled instructors.
Situated at Valderas St. corner Quezon Avenue in Sariaya, Quezon, the school found its home in the meticulously renovated historical residence of the de Luna family. Originally a wedding gift from "Amama" Sotero de Luna and "Inana" Sotero de Luna, the ancestral house served as the residence of Mr. Felino and Mrs. Pacita Alvarez de Luna. Currently owned by Mrs. Resurrection de Luna-Manigbas, it functions as the mock hotel for Colegio de Santo Cristo de Burgos, providing an ideal setting for training various hospitality courses.
The institution was founded with the aim of providing a local college for students in Sariaya, alleviating the financial burden on parents seeking higher education for their children. Recognizing the growing demand for higher tertiary education, the school applied for programs under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). Initially offering programs such as Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, it later expanded to include Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and other related fields.
In 2016, demonstrating a commitment to growth, the school administration initiated the construction of a new building in the Tierra Monde Subdivision to accommodate its expanding programs. The Senior High School department was introduced, aligning technical vocational and academic programs with the Senior High School Curriculum to better serve students. Majority of the Senior High School students benefit from the DepEd Voucher system, ensuring access to quality basic education without excessive financial strain.
