Discover Colegio de Santo Cristo de Burgos

The School Patron

Santo Cristo de Burgos represents the crucified Christ, and according to the history of Sariaya, Quezon, this image was brought from Burgos, Spain, by the Spanish Friars. As the friars were searching for a new settlement, they rested under a tree with the crucified Christ. When they attempted to continue their journey, they found they could no longer lift the Holy Cross. Interpreting it as a divine sign, they chose to erect a church on that very spot, now known as the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church, Sariaya's Roman Catholic Church.

The college is dedicated to Santo Cristo de Burgos in reverence to this sacred image.
